UPS Driver Killed in Irvine Shooting

IRVINE, Calif. (Thursday, May 16, 2024) – A UPS driver is dead after being shot Thursday afternoon in the Irvine Industrial Complex-East.

The Irvine Police Department (IPD) received reports of a shooting near the intersection of Chrysler and Bendix just after 3:00 pm.  Officers arrived on the scene to find a UPS truck with a deceased male driver inside.

While IPD has not yet released the identity of the victim or a potential motive, they confirmed the victim was a UPS driver and the truck was involved in the incident.

"Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time," said a UPS spokesperson in a statement. "We are cooperating fully with the Irvine Police Department in their investigation."
