Special Travel Event Announcement: Life In Vietnam & Thailand

One of the questions I receive most often is simple:

"What's it really like to live in Thailand or Vietnam?"

As someone who has visited Thailand multiple times over the years, I know firsthand that social media only shows part of the story. Beautiful beaches, incredible food, and breathtaking views are often highlighted, but there is so much more travelers and future expats need to know before booking a flight or making the decision to relocate.

That's why I'm excited to announce a special live discussion featuring two travelers who have spent significant time experiencing life in Southeast Asia.

Together, we'll discuss the realities of living in Vietnam and Thailand, including the good, the challenging, and everything in between.

Topics We'll Cover

✈️ Cost of living

✈️ Housing and accommodations

✈️ Healthcare and medical care

✈️ Transportation

✈️ Language barriers

✈️ Food and street food safety

✈️ Packing tips

✈️ American products and comfort items abroad

✈️ Making friends and building community

✈️ Safety and cultural differences

✈️ Living abroad versus visiting as a tourist

✈️ What they wish they knew before moving

Whether you're planning a vacation, considering retirement overseas, becoming a digital nomad, or simply curious about life in Southeast Asia, this conversation is designed to answer many of the questions people are often afraid to ask.

When Adventure Turns Dangerous

My Chiang Mai Waterfall Experience

From My Conversation with Queen of DC – Solo Travel

During my conversation with Queen of DC – Solo Travel, we briefly discussed waterfalls, caves, and some of the unforgettable excursions available throughout Southeast Asia.

While sharing our travel experiences, I mentioned that I had a personal story from one of my adventures in Chiang Mai, Thailand that perfectly illustrates why preparation and safety should always come first.

I promised I would share that experience with you.

Here it is.

⚠️ Viewer Advisory

Please note: This video contains some strong language captured in real time during a dangerous situation.

The reactions you hear were completely genuine as I realized just how slippery and hazardous the climb had become.

I chose not to edit the footage because I believe it serves as an honest reminder that even the most beautiful destinations can present unexpected dangers.

Viewer discretion is advised.

What Happened

When I arrived at the waterfall, it looked like an incredible experience.

The rocks didn't appear to be particularly dangerous.

Unfortunately, appearances can be deceiving.

Once I started climbing, I quickly realized just how slippery the rocks actually were.

At one point, I lost my footing and nearly slipped a considerable distance down the waterfall.

As I tried to regain my balance, another gentleman climbing nearby also slipped and nearly disappeared behind the rocks.

Thankfully, neither of us was seriously injured.

But it was a powerful reminder that a beautiful excursion can become dangerous in just a matter of seconds.

Miss Hollywood's Travel Safety Tip

Whether you're climbing waterfalls...

Exploring caves...

Ziplining...

ATV riding...

Hiking...

Or participating in any outdoor excursion...

Please remember that adventure always comes with some level of risk.

Wear proper footwear.

Pay attention to changing conditions.

Listen carefully to your guides.

And never allow excitement to override common sense.

One thing I never recommend skipping is travel insurance.

Many travelers spend months planning flights, hotels, restaurants, and excursions but never stop to consider what could happen if an accident occurs.

Travel insurance may help protect you in the event of unexpected medical emergencies, trip interruptions, cancellations, and other unforeseen situations while traveling.

Hopefully, you'll never need it.

But if you do...

You'll be thankful you planned ahead. Note: Please be sure to wear the proper footwear.

Final Thoughts

I absolutely love Thailand, and Chiang Mai remains one of my favorite destinations.

I wouldn't trade this experience for anything.

I simply want you to enjoy these incredible places with your eyes wide open and your safety at the forefront.

Travel the world.

Create unforgettable memories.

But most importantly...

Come home safely.
