The highly watched murder trial of Karmelo Anthony has now reached a critical stage, as jurors have completed deliberations and a verdict has reportedly been reached.

Anthony is charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, in April 2025. Prosecutors argued that Anthony intentionally escalated a confrontation and committed murder, while the defense maintained that Anthony acted in self-defense during a rapidly unfolding altercation. Throughout the trial, jurors heard testimony from students, coaches, law enforcement officers, and witnesses who were present at the track meet. Surveillance footage, body camera video, and evidence related to the stabbing were also presented in court. Anthony did not testify in his own defense. (NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth)

Before deliberations began, jurors were instructed that they could consider multiple outcomes, including a murder conviction, a lesser charge of manslaughter, or acquittal based on the self-defense argument presented by the defense. (The Sun)

One detail drawing attention is the relatively short amount of time the jury spent deliberating. Reports indicate jurors reached a decision after approximately three hours of deliberation, a timeline that has already sparked widespread discussion among legal observers and members of the public. However, the length of deliberations alone does not necessarily indicate the outcome of a case.

As of this writing, we are awaiting the official announcement of the verdict. Once released, The Chat with Miss Hollywood will provide a full breakdown of the jury’s decision, the courtroom reaction, and what comes next for everyone involved.

This remains a developing story.
